24-7 Global Week of Prayer
We are going to join in with people from every nation praying for the world this September.
The theme is 'At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow'.

Our Prayer Cabin
In our own prayer cabin the team have prepared a wonderful journey of prayer to help you focus on God's generosity and the name of Jesus, and then respond in prayer.
The aim is to have a person or group praying for an hour, day or night, 24/7 for a whole week.
The battle for God's Kingdom begins on our knees. Let's pray for the renewal of His world and our community. Life and peace for all through Jesus!
You can join in using the prayer cabin where a wonderful hour's journey of resources has been prepared, or at night you can pray from home (from 10pm to 6am).
Book your slot in the prayer calendar.
(If you need help, we have a helpful guide on how to use the website)
We have also prepared a guide to spend an hour in prayer if you'd like to use it.
What is a Prayer Room like?
One person shares their experience of meeting God in the prayer cabin:
I visited the Prayer cabin for the first time last week with my Bible study group. I was a little nervous as I normally pray spontaneously and do not pray for long periods of time. I was worried I would run out of ideas on what to pray about, I needn't have worried, God gave me guidance!
After some silent prayer, I chose to look at the prayer activities around the room. A bible quote on an activity sheet caught my eye.
Ephesians 4:31-32: “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
That gave me a nudge. I have recently felt angry when driving due to other drivers driving unsafely so I thought ‘I need to say sorry for this and then seek God's guidance and forgiveness.’
The activity sheet said take a pebble, hold it in your hand as you pray and then lay it at the foot of the cross. Simple enough I thought.
I chose a white stone, which glittered a little on one side, because it reminded me of when Jesus was transfigured and his clothes shone ‘as white as the light’.
I held it in both hands and started to pray. I confessed to my feelings of anger, said sorry and sought forgiveness.
I then prayed about the second part of the bible quote which said about being kind and compassionate. It is one of my life's goals to be kind and compassionate. I prayed a prayer of thanks for all those people who show me great kindness and asked God to continue to help me to do the same. Finally I reflected on forgiving those who had hurt me in the past.
I don't know how long I prayed for, but it felt like 20 minutes. It was then I realised the most wonderful thing. The stone, which was cold and hard when I first picked it up, was now incredibly warm! ‘Wow, this is the physical manifestation of an innermost feeling’ I thought. I often say to people that for me, being filled with the Holy Spirit feels like a flame burning inside me and this experience was another manifestation of that. In other words it felt like the Holy Spirit was flowing through this stone into my hands and that this warmth was therefore coming from God. I sat in awe for a while feeling such comfort and closeness to God.
At that point I didn't want to put the warm stone down so God did something wonderful. He cleared my mind of thoughts and worries, like the clouds clearing after a storm. He then gave me an image of a beach. I was standing on the sand, looking into the distance at the horizon, where the sky meets the sea. All the colours in the image were muted into pastel shades and everything was just slightly hazy. I didn't know what this image meant but I felt reassured by the presence of God. After a while I felt ready to give up the warm stone and as I lay the stone at the foot of the cross I thanked God for the special time I had spent in his presence.
I now plan to find myself just the right stone, one that I can carry with me to hold whenever I feel the need to pray and I would encourage everyone to try this too. Let's see if, by holding a prayer stone, you can feel as uplifted and connected to God as I did.
