Our St Michael's Parish Church

What to Expect

St Michael’s is our parish church and as you would expect, our oldest building, but the welcome is warm (and thanks to the invention of underfloor heating, so is the building).  The service is relaxed and will usually last about an hour and a quarter.  A bit longer on the first Sunday when we celebrate communion.

For those with families, the 9:15am service has an area to the side of the church for pre-schoolers to hang photo 1out with the parents or carers, the 11am service has full children’s and young people provision in a separate facility – just follow the signage and anyone wearing an All Starz Sunday t-shirt.  Children’s provision is crèche to Primary Year 6.  Our young people get to hang out at the Youth Cabin.  Generally we try to run youth work on the Second and Fourth Sundays but due to other events this may change from month to month. We keep people advised on social media and in our newsletters so watch out for announcements.

While everyone is invited to participate in the worship and singing, there is never any pressure to do so, and individuals will always feel comfortable to engage however they like.  Following a time of singing and worship, there is a relevant, bible-based message.

Following the service, many people take the opportunity to stick around, drink coffee, eat cake and chat.  But the best way to see what to expect is to experience it for yourself, so we hope you'll do just that and we get to meet you soon.
